Financial Assistance
We believe
everyone should have the opportunity to participate regardless of their economic
status. Donations received through our Annual Community Support Campaign and
Sold on Youth Auction provide scholarships for individuals who cannot afford
the full cost of YMCA membership or programs, especially children.
To apply for assistance, contact your YMCA Front Desk for
an applications or click the Financial Assistance Application link.
Return completed application and one month's proof of
income to Sacramento Area YMCA. You will receive notification by mail within
7-10 working days.

What is Financial Assistance? -
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to participate regardless
of their economic status. Donations received through our Annual Community
Support Campaign and Sold on Youth Auction provide scholarships for
individuals who cannot afford the full cost of YMCA membership or programs,
especially children.
How is the amount of Financial Assistance determined? -
A sliding fee scale is used based on total household income and the number
of household members. We require supporting documentation to verify household
size and income, and we consider special circumstances when providing
assistance.
How long does my Financial Assistance last? -
Membership Financial Assistance is granted for up to six months from the
award date. Program Financial Assistance is determined on a case-by case basis.
How long does the Financial Assistance process take? -
After we receive your completed application and proper documentation, we
process your application and mail you an award letter within 7 - 10 business
days. The letter will include information on your financial assistance award for
YMCA membership and programs and how to begin receiving the reduced rates.
How is confidential information handled? -
Only YMCA staff will see your application. Applications are kept
confidential and are not used for any other purpose than to assess program
needs.
